DOG GROOMING REIMAGINED
about me
My name’s Emma, I’m an artist, a dancer and I’ve been grooming dogs since 2016, starting at the age of 18. Over years and multiple salons, I started to think hard about why dogs came in the salon trembling, and why groomers got burnt out so quickly. After watching different groomers groom and trying different methods myself, my conclusion is that it’s just not fun for either party. A lot of groomers are disconnected, and the dog just wants to get out of there back to their loving family. But what if the dog groomer loves the dog just as much? What if the dog trusts their dog groomer? And what if the dog has fun and is excited to come to the groomers? It’s possible, but it’s taken me a long time to figure out how. To put it simply, play + training + work = confident happy dog
my approach
This is a unique 1on1 grooming setting for dogs under 50lbs, where i can focus on just your dog without distractions of other dogs barking or a walk-in nail trim. I use techniques from a process called Cooperative Care, which highlights never forcing a dog to do something they are uncomfortable with. This mixed with a bit of play and fun has made my job so much easier, and made the grooming process much more enjoyable for dogs.
